Florida Surfer by D Hackett
A favorite for local surfboarding teens and the families, the park is nestled in a residential area at the end of Wabasso Road, about 8 miles up from the action on Ocean Drive and 8 miles below the Sebastian Inlet. Aside from regular amenities like picnic tables, restrooms, a dedicated parking lot and lifeguards during daily hours .
Wabasso in North Florida is an exposed beach break. Winter is the favorite time of year for surfing here. The best wind direction is from the southwest. Wind swells and groundswells in equal measure and the best swell direction is from the north northeast. The beach break offers both left and right hand waves. Best around high tide. When it's working here, it can get crowded. Watch out for rips and sharks
