Silver Skull by D Hackett
This Silver Skull with sword was actually made from 98 troy ounces of silver that was discovered on the wreck of the Atocha. The Atocha being a part of the 1622 Spanish Galleon fleet which was downed by a hurricane on September 22nd of that year, while travelling from Havana, Cuba to Seville, Spain. Mel Fisher and family discovered the remains of the Atocha, and it’s treasures in 1985. The overall find was worth about $400 Million, an extremely tiny portion of which was used to manufacture the skull that is on display at the St Augustine Pirate and Treasure Museum.
