Albert and Alberta
In August of 2003 the bronze statue of Albert and Alberta was donated by Charles Perry of Perry Construction, Inc. and Tom Robinson of Robinshores, Inc. California Artist Peter Foster based his original sculpture on the retired mascot costumes worn by students portraying Albert and Alberta. The American Bronze Fine Art Foundry Inc. in Sanford Florida took six months to complete the 1,510 pound statue once the mold was received.
This Albert & Alberta bronze statue is located outside of Emerson Graduate Hall. It is one of the favorite monuments at UF for University of Florida graduates to take a picture with. It has become one of the statues student tour guides take their tourists to go see. On game days students and people will stop by and rub the stature for good luck.
