18th Earthenware Vessel by D Hackett
This vessel was recovered from a Red Sea Pirate Shipwreck by John de Bry and seen at the St Augustine Pirate and Treasure Museum. Earthenware is glazed or unglazed nonvitreous pottery that has normally been fired below. Outside East Asia, porcelain was manufactured only from the 18th century AD, and then initially as an expensive luxury.
