School House 1912 Castalia Florida
A typical Florida one room school house was open from three to six months a year depending on the weather and the growing season. This school house was a strawberry school closing every winter so childred could help their parents on the farm.
There are two entrances into the schoolhouse. The door on the left was for girls and the one on the right was for boys. Similarly, inside the schoolhouse girls sat on the left and boys on the right.
