I took a gorgeous two hour sunset sail on The Schooner Freedom in St Augustine. We didn’t have a set sailing path and allowed the wind takes us along the Matanzas River. I watched the sun set and enjoyed the beauty of the St. Augustine skyline outlined with sunlight. The sunset-drenched landscape provided a perfect end to day in St Augustine.
The Schooner Freedom is St. Augustine’s Premier tall ship. 76 feet of steel, Freedom was built in Norfolk, Virginia and is a gaff-rigged topsail schooner, and a highlight to any Saint Augustine vacation. Family owned and operated, love, grit and honor is poured into every crevice of this ship, and it shows in our Captains’ and Crews’ vast knowledge of sailing history and their deep passion for the ocean.
