The Bridge of Lions by D Hackett
The unique Bridge of Lions is one of St. Augustine Florida's most noticeable structures, visible in almost every view of the St. Augustine skyline. The St Augustine Bridge of Lions is a double leaf, drawback bascule bridge that spans St. Augustine's Intercostal Waterway over Mantanza's Bay, connecting Anastasia Island with Downtown St. Augustine. The lions that call the Bridge of Lions home in St. Augustine were created and designed by Italian sculptor, Romanelli of Florence Italy and donated by Dr. Andrew Anderson, a close friend of Henry Flagler, one of St. Augustine's most renowned developers.
The Bridge of Lions is a double-leaf bascule bridge that spans the Intracoastal Waterway in St. Augustine, Florida. A part of State Road A1A, it connects downtown St. Augustine to Anastasia Island.
The Bridge of Lions is listed on the Nat...
