A bronze alligator statue, mascot for the University of Florida, stands in front of the Ben Hill Griffin stadium, on the campus of the University of Florida, in Gainesville, FL. This statue was presented in honor of the 1995 National Football Championship by Warren M Carson, Gordon H �Stumpy� Harris and Jeffrey A Ulmer. Dedicated on April 4, 1998
The 1996 Bull Gator In front of the southeast entrance to the stadium the 15-foot bronzed Gator statue.
In honor of the 2006 Football National Championship and the members of the Bull Gator Program. This statue was provided by a generous gift from Stumpy Harris, Hjalma Johnson and Joe Lecompte.
The Bull Gator Program is a comprehensive membership program for the University of Florida's top level of annual athletic donors. Gator Boosters, Inc. has the responsibility of administering this program.
Athletics are a big deal at the University of Florida, and the school has had impressive successes in recent years with multiple football and basketball national championship wins. There's no mistaking a football game day on campus when Ben Hill Griffin Stadium fills with over 88,000 fans and the campus is awash with orange.
Outside the stadium is this sculpture of a gator. The "Bull Gators" engraved on the sculpture are donors who have pledged a sizable annual sum to the university's athletic programs.
